Burwell Village Carnival

Search

Having returned with a successful Burwell Carnival once again in 2022, following an enforced 2 year absence due to the covid pandemic, we're now planning for Carnival 2023 on Saturday 1st July, 1-11.30pm, Burwell Recreation Ground. Last year the event was attended by over 3500 people, and we're looking forward to hopefully attracting a similar number of attendees. Watch this space and our Facebook event page for further details.

Carnival kicks off with our themed parade, from 1.30pm (see below), making it's way to the Recreation Ground (open from 1pm), where you'll find our Carnival bar, stage and field entertainment/displays (Grantanbrycg - Anglo Saxon/Viking/Norman re-enactment group) , fair rides (large - dodgems/ferris wheel & smaller ones) & inflatable attractions (assault course, helter skelter, last one standing) and food vendors (see list below), along with so much more to enjoy on-the-day.

We also have room for 50 craft/commercial/charity/community stalls - please select 'stall booking' or button below to book.

Many thanks

Burwell Carnival Team
Burwell Carnival hopes to deliver a time when our community can come together and celebrate everything about our growing village!

The parade theme for 2023 is 'National & International Celebration Days' - (minimum requirement 'single person' with a 'themed' banner + group name) with local community groups, and hopefully 'local businesses' taking part. Paraders will assemble at the Burwell Social Club car park, from 1pm, and be human/electric powered only = 'Walk, Push, Pull, Scoot or Pedal.'  Starting at 1.30pm - making it's way down The Causeway, turning left into Hythe Lane and straight onto The Recreation Ground up to our stage area 2pm (ish). Parents of kids involved, family/friends and fellow Burwellians will hopefully line the route and particularly welcoming the parade onto Burwell Recreation Ground.

Will last years winners retain their shields, or will others now regain the title!
